NORTH
Alan Alwood
Originally from the UK, Alan has a background in Business Development. He has worked for many major companies both in Australia and internationally and has specialty skills in marketing, business processes, risk management and IT solutions.
Alan has over 25 years practical experience in developing business plans, sales strategies, marketing plans and tender development. He also has extensive knowledge in providing “total customer satisfaction” outcomes within service industries.
John Brown
John comes from a local government and small business background. He has operated his own successful business consultancy and retail businesses in Tasmania.
He has extensive skills in strategic and business planning, HR management, banking, financial management and accounting, which have proved a great asset to our Enterprise Centre clients.
John is an experienced presenter and workshop facilitator and has previously worked with a number of corporate and local government agencies on strategic projects.
Debbie Steer
With over 10 years experience operating her own small business, Debbie is able to empathise with business operators and apply her expertise to assist Tasmanian small business.
Debbie has a Certificate IV in Small Business and Marketing and has extensive experience in the aquaculture, wholesale and retail sectors. Combined with hands on operational skills she provides practical advice and guidance to intenders and established business on how to grow and succeed profitability in Tasmania.
Debbie is the primary coordinator for the Womens Entrepreneur program for the North.
Victoria Pullen
For 20 years, Victoria has been involved in the Construction Industry, owning and operating two small businesses. Victoria has extensive experience in regard to contracts and tenders, staff management, recording keeping and WPH&S.
Victoria has recently been facilitating courses in WPH & Safety, Business and Business Administration, Painting and Decorating and is a Life Skills Coach.
Currently holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate III in Business and a Certificate of Small Business Management, she is passionate about regional areas and appreciates the opportunity to assist small business in regional Tasmania.
NORTH WEST
Shelley Aherne
A Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (specialising in Small Business Management and taxation) gives Shelley the title of our “tax expert”. Shelley has built strong relationships with our clients with the advice and experience she has in small business.
Shelley also has expertise in customer service, administration and direct marketing/selling which has helped many clients implement their business and marketing plans. Shelley coordinates the Women’s Entrepreneur program across North West Tasmania.
Peter Williams
Originally from the UK with a back ground in manufacturing, Peter has owned, managed and worked with major manufacturing companies throughout his career and has a Diploma in Business Studies.
Peter’s systems and industrial process experience, coupled with strong human resources skills, have enabled him to help many Tasmanian small businesses effectively manage, change and grow their business to be more sustainable and profitable.
SOUTH
Geoff Parsons
Geoff has financial background in the small to medium business sector. He also operates his own small business in southern Tasmania growing olives and organic produce when he is not in our southern office assisting clients.
Geoff’s business career has seen him establish two viable accounting practices and a brokerage and is one of our most experienced and knowledgeable Small Business Consultants based in our Hobart office.
Stuart Thorn
Stuart has managed two other Enterprise Centres in the state and has a diploma in Enterprise Development. He has assisted hundreds of Tasmanian small business start-ups during his extensive time in the industry and has a broad range of knowledge and skills to help businesses to grow and develop. He has particular skills in project management, business planning, technology and strategic planning.
Stuart has also been involved in a Tasmanian Arts Business program delivering training on business topics and mentoring clients and was instrumental in managing a project to develop a Community bank in the Huon Valley.
Daniela Schurink-Moeller
Daniela came to Australia 22 years ago after completing an apprenticeship in hotel management in Frankfurt am Main.
With an ongoing desire to learn, update her skills and embrace personal development she also completed formal business qualifications in form of a Diploma in Tourism Management, a Bachelor of Business Administration and the Cert IV in Training and Assessment. The combination of industry experience and formal qualifications provides an in-depth understanding of the issues of small business operations in Tasmania.
